Terms.
Short, because the service does almost nothing.

These terms cover typosafe.lol, its apps, its API at /v1, its MCP server at /mcp, and the typosafe and jef-mcp command line packages. By using any of them you accept what is written here.

This is a parody

TypoSafe AI is a parody of TypeSafe AI, and Jef is a parody of their model, Jev. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to TypeSafe AI in any way. Every page here says so, and this one says it first.

Nothing on this site is a real product claim. The lab, the model family, the research, the team and the release notes are jokes. The things that are literally true are stated as facts elsewhere: Jef reads no tokens, stores nothing about you, costs nothing, and returns the same answer for the same input.

The answers are not advice

Jef's answers are arbitrary. They are produced by hashing your input and looking the result up in a table. They are not reasoning, not analysis, not a recommendation, and not based on your situation, because your situation was never read.

Do not rely on an answer for anything that matters. It is not medical, legal, financial, psychological or safety advice, and it must not be presented to anyone else as though it were. If you build on the API, present its output as what it is: a confident arbitrary choice.

Questions touching health, harm, money, law or safety return ESCALATED TO A HUMAN with a confidence of zero, instead of an answer. That is deliberate, it is the one part of this project we are serious about, and it must not be worked around.

Using the site

You may use the site and the API for anything, including commercially, free of charge. You may not:

• Present Jef's output as human judgment, professional advice, or the output of a real decision model.
• Remove or obscure the parody labelling when redistributing it, or imply an association with TypeSafe AI.
• Submit content designed to get profanity, slurs, sexual content or harassment published on the public wall, or attempt to bypass the filters that prevent it.
• Use the service to harass, threaten or deceive a person.
• Attack the service, its providers or its other users, including by attempting to overwhelm it.

We may remove content and block access if any of this happens, without notice, because there is no account system through which to give notice.

What you type

You keep whatever rights you have in the text you type. By typing it into an app on the site, you grant us permission to store and publish it as described on the privacy page, which for most apps means showing it on a public wall.

Do not type personal information, anyone's private details, or anything confidential. There is no way to make an entry private after the fact, though we will delete anything on request.

The API and the MCP server

Both are free, need no key, and come with no service level agreement of any kind. They may change, break, be rate limited or be withdrawn at any time, without notice and without a migration path. Do not put them on a critical path. If your system genuinely cannot tolerate a coin flip returning nothing, it should not be calling a coin flip.

Ownership and licence

The model is open source under the MIT licence and ships inside the typosafe and jef-mcp packages, so the source is the package. You may read it, copy it, modify it and use it commercially under those terms.

The name TypoSafe AI, the Jef character, the mark and the site's written content are ours, and are not covered by that licence. The brand kit in the repository sets out how the mark may be used.

No warranty

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Accuracy in particular is not merely disclaimed, it is the premise: Jef is wrong roughly as often as a coin, and says so.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including anything that follows from acting on an answer. The service is free and we earn nothing from it.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and the history is public in the site's repository. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of this site is established, and any dispute is subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause removes any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
